Today is the second game of the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam.
BC opened Paradise Jam play with a 15-pt win over George Mason.
Dating back to 1951-52, Boston College has compiled a 99-90 record in multi-team events (MTE) and in-season tournaments.
Last season, BC was 1-2 in the Sunshine Slam, held in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Eagles downed Holy Cross at home before dropping decisions against Utah and Rhode Island.

BOARD MAN BICKERSTAFF

T.J. Bickerstaff has picked up where he left off last season - as one of the top rebounders in the ACC and the nation.
Bickerstaff ranks seventh in the ACC - and 74th nationally - averaging 8.8 rebounds per game during the 2022-23 season .
He posted double digits in the rebounding column in three of BC's first four games this season.
Last season, the 6-9 forward was eighth in the ACC (7.2 rpg); he ranks as fifth-leading returning rebounder in the league.
Bickerstaff was one of 15 players nationally - two in the ACC (Bacot - UNC) to have multiple games with 17 rebounds or more.
Against UNC on Jan. 26, 14 of Bickerstaff's 17 rebounds came on the defensive glass.
The last BC player to grab at least 14 defensive boards in a game - Ky Bowman (16) - against Notre Dame on Jan. 12, 2019.
Bickerstaff also corraled 17 boards at home vs. Columbia - the fourth-most in a single-game in Conte Forum history.
The last BC player to have at least two games with 17+ rebounds - Ryan Anderson - during the 2012-13 season.
Bickerstaff registered four games with at least 15 rebounds in 2021-22 - tied for most in the ACC this season (Bacot).
The last BC player to have at least four games with 15+ rebounds - Craig Smith - during the 2005-06 season.

ZACKERY'S 3-POINT EFFICIENCY

Dating back to last season, Jaeden Zackery ranks seventh nationally among all active players in 3-point field goal percentage.
Zackery has connected on 47.1% of his long-distance shots, making 56-of-119 from beyond the arc (36 games).

McBLOCKTON

In four games this season, redshirt freshman Devin McGlockton has logged six blocked shots.
He ranks ninth in the ACC in swats (1.5 bpg) and rejected a season-best three shots vs. Detroit Mercy.
Boston College is 3-0 in games in which the 6-7 forward records at least one blocked shot.

BOO'S BACK

DeMarr Langford made his 2022-23 debut against Maine on Nov. 14, playing 28 minutes off the bench.
He scored 10 points, making 4-of-5 shots from the floor (2-4 FT) to go along with two rebounds and two blocks.
The junior wing had missed the first two games of the season due to an ankle injury.

MADSEN DIALS LONG-DISTANCE IN WIN OVER DETROIT MERCY

Mason Madsen tied his career-high with five 3-pointers - including the go-ahead trifecta - against Detroit Mercy.
In his second start of the season, the junior transfer tallied 18 points and five rebounds - both one short of his career bests.
Madsen's fifth three-ball of the night with 15 seconds remaining gave BC the lead for good in the comeback over UDM.

MAKAI SHINES IN SECOND HALF VS. DETROIT MERCY

Makai Ashton-Langford scored all 15 of his points - including a posterizing dunk - in the second half vs. Detroit Mercy.
After starting the game 0-for-4 in the first half, the veteran point guard made 5-of-7 shots in 14 minutes in the second half.
He also logged three assists in the second half - including the pass that set up Mason Madsen's go-ahead 3-pointer.
Last season, Ashton-Langford tallied better than 60% of his scoring over the final 20 minutes of play.

CJ PENHA JR. - CERTIFIED BUCKET GETTER

CJ Penha Jr. came off the bench to score 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting (2-4 3FG) against Cornell.
He added 12 points and a season-best eight boards in the win over George Mason.
Penha Jr. ranks second on the Eagles in FG% (56.7%) and third in scoring (10.0 ppg).
The grad transfer compiled nearly 1,600 points at Taylor University (NAIA) and Trevecca Nazarene (DII), including 155 3FG's.

Last season, when BC attempted 15 or fewer 3-pointers, it was 8-4; with 16 or more 3-point attempts, BC was 5-16.
So far this season, the Eagles are 3-1 and are averaging 16.5 3-point field goal attempts per game.
