Cardinals Hold Off Eagles in ACC Action

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Boston College women's soccer team fell on the road to the Louisville Cardinals in ACC action on Sunday afternoon at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.

The Eagles had a few good looks in the first half off of the foot of Claire Mensi but it would be the Cardinals that scored first, with the hosts finding the back of the net in the 24th minute. Louisville then held off the Eagles for the remainder of the game for the 1-0 final.

HOW IT HAPPENED

24' | Savina Zamborini sent a long through ball into the box that Sarah Hernandez touched to the right and then finished with a low shot back across her body.

GAME NOTES

Louisville had the 9-4 lead in shots.
The Cardinals had a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Eagles are now 4-4-0 in the all-time series with Louisville … the Eagles have a mark of 2-3-0 on the road.
Four of the eight meetings in the series have now been decided by one goal.
Goalkeeper Wiebke Willebrandt finished with three saves for the Eagles.
Claire Mensi led the Eagles and tied for a game-high with her three shots.
