
BC to Host UNC in Program's Inaugural Red Bandanna Game

Alumni will be recognized at halftime following pregame Red Bandanna honors
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The No. 19 Boston College Eagles (5-6, 2-1) will welcome top-ranked North Carolina (9-0, 2-0) to The Hill on Friday afternoon, hosting the Tar Heels at 4:00 in the program's inaugural Red Bandanna Game. The Eagles three-game win streak was snapped last weekend, falling to No. 13 Syracuse and Albany on the road last weekend. The Tar Heels remain perfect, winning their lone game last weekend 6-3 over Liberty. The Red Bandanna ceremony will take place before the game, and Boston College's Field Hockey Alumni will be recognized at halftime as a part of Alumni Day.Â
The game will air at 4:00 on ESPN+ from Boston College's field hockey complex on the Newton campus.Â
THE RED BANDANNA GAME
• Each year, Boston College honors Welles Crowther '99 with its annual Red Bandanna Game. The red bandanna was a defining feature used to identify Crowther, who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Crowther, known to survivors as "The Man in the Red Bandanna" is credited with saving at least one dozen people in the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
• Crowther played lacrosse at BC and worked as an equities trader in New York, on the 104th floor of the South Tower, following graduation
