Kara Heck Scores Twice as Comeback Effort Falls Short to UNC
October 07, 2022 | Field Hockey
Peyton Hale added to her team lead in goals in the loss
Down three goals early in the third period, Kara Heck controlled the ball just outside the circle. Keeping the defender on her back, Heck spun left and unleashed a dart, beating the UNC goalie glove side in the air for her second goal of the year. Her night didn't end there, as she converted a rebound off a penalty corner to cut it to 3-2 with ten minutes left in regulation.Â
Kara Heck's two goals came after a goal by UNC's Ryleigh Heck, Kara's younger sister, as the Heck sisters combined for six points today.Â
The Tar Heels added another before Peyton Hale scored off a penalty shot, cutting the deficit to 4-3, where the score would remain. Hale's penalty stroke conversion added to her team-leading six goals this season, continuing to be a dominant offensive force in the circle.Â
The Eagles finished with 20 shots on Friday night, the most allowed by a UNC opponent this season, and it was the first time UNC had been out-shot to this point.Â
Boston College will now look ahead to a home game against Northeastern this Wednesday at 4:00.
