» Boston College hosts No. 5 Clemson at Alumni Stadium for its annual Red Bandanna game on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
» The Eagles are 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the ACC following a 34-33 win over Louisville at home last week.
» BC honors Welles Crowther ’99 with its Red Bandanna Game. Crowther, who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, was credited with saving as many as a dozen lives in the Twin Towers.
» The Red Bandanna Game started in 2014 with a 37-31 win over No. 9 USC. In 2021, BC defeated Virginia Tech, 17-3.
» ESPN’s Saturday Night Football on ABC comes to the Heights for a primetime, national television match-up. Sean McDonough (play-by-play) and Todd Blackledge (analyst) are in the booth with BC alum Molly McGrath (reporter) on the sideline.
» Coverage on the Boston College Sports Network begins 30 minutes prior to kickoff on WEEI 93.7 FM and 850 AM. Jon Meterparel (play-by-play) is joined on the call by former BC linebacker Pete Cronan in the booth and quarterback Scott Mutryn on the sideline.
» Clemson leads the series, which began at the 1940 Cotton Bowl, 20-9-2 and has won 11 in a row over Boston College.
» The Tigers escaped with six-point wins in each of the last two meetings with BC; 34-28 in 2020 and 19-13 in 2021.
» Boston College welcomes back its 2002 and 2007 teams for Homecoming Weekend vs. Clemson.
» The 2002 Eagles, which picked up a win at No. 4 Notre Dame, went 9-4 under head coach Tom O’Brien and won the Motor City Bowl. In 2007, Matt Ryan and BC went 11-3, peaked at No. 2 in the polls, played for an ACC title, defeated Michigan State in the Champs Sports Bowl and finished the year ranked No. 10.
