
BC Comes Up Short To Close Out Road Trip

CLEMSON, S.C – Boston College lost to Clemson 1-3 on Sunday afternoon, the Eagles lost by scores of 24-28, 22-25 and 22-25. BC now moves to 14-10 on the season and 2-8 in the ACC while Clemson improves to 12-10 overall and 3-7 in conference play.Â
After going down 10-4 to begin set one, the Eagles fought all the way back and turned it into a back and forth set down to the very end. BC looked like they were potentially gonna steal the set when they took a 23-22 lead however the Tigers managed to stay in it and force deuce at 24-24 before winning the next two points to clinch.Â
In set two, Boston College knew they had to respond to avoid another 0-2 deficit and they outhit Clemson .400 to .324 and rattled off a 5-2 scoring run at the end to win the set 25-23.Â
After dropping set three to the Tigers, the Eagles looked to force a fifth set and it appeared like they were on the way when they took an 18-16 lead in set four however Clemson put on an impressive 9-3 scoring run to close out the match.Â
For Clemson, Mia Mcgrath led the way with 16 kills on a .419 hitting percentage to go along with eight digs and Camryn Hannah tallied 13 kills on a .450 hitting percentage as well.Â
Senior right side Izzy Clavenna (Dallas, TX) posted her season high with 20 kills on a .341 hitting percentage to go along with three blocks and Junior outside hitter Alayna Crabtree (Normal, Ill) recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 10 digs as well as two aces and two blocks.Â
BC will head back home and prepare for a home stand next weekend vs Miami and Florida State. Â
