
BC Gets Huge Win Over Hurricanes

Eagles improve to 15-10 on the season after 3-1 defeat vs Miami
CHESTNUT HILL, MASS – Boston College defeated Miami 3-1 on Friday evening, the Eagles won by scores of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-23. BC now improves to 15-10 on the season and 3-8 in the ACC while the Hurricanes now move to 13-9 overall and 6-5 in the conference.Â
In set one, BC raced out to a 20-11 lead before Miami was able to get back in it at 20-16 after a quick 5-0 run. The Eagles were able to clinch the set off clutch kills from Senior right side Izzy Clavenna (Dallas, Texas).Â
After dropping set two to Miami in an intense back and forth that ended with the Hurricanes rattling off a 4-0 run to win 26-24 after being down 24-22 both teams knew that set three was going to go a long way in deciding this match. BC asserted their dominance winning six of the last seven points to clinch the set and go up 2-1 in the match.Â
In a back and forth, down to the wire set four, the Eagles were down one at 21-22 before winning four of the last five points to clinch the set and match.Â
Junior outside hitter Katrina Jensen (Temecula, Calif) led the way on offense for BC as she totaled 15 kills and two blocks. Sophomore middle blocker Jenna Pollock (St. Catharines, Ont) came up big in this one as well going for a 12 kill, 11 dig double-double. Izzy Clavenna added 13 kills and three blocks of her own as well.Â
The Eagles will finish off their weekend home stand with a match Sunday at 1 p.m against the Florida State Seminoles.Â
