Move to 14-1 all-time when hosting event, 5-0 on the season

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Volleyball (5-0, 0-0 ACC) completed a sweep of the Boston College Invitational, as they took down New Hampshire (5-1, 0-0 America East) in four sets (25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20) on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles improve to 8-11 all-time against the Wildcats, earning their first win against them since 2015.

Sam Hoppes had a career day, killing 17 shots on a .406 hitting percentage, also adding five total blocks. Reese Dunkle also recorded a career-high in kills, logging 11 total on 16 attempts. Audrey Ross had 10 kills of her own to go along with a service ace, while Brooklyn Yelland matched a career-high four service aces in the victory. Lucie Vesela continued to impress, recording a game-best 23 assists, the most by an Eagle this season.

The visitors held an early advantage in the first set, but BC responded with a 4-0 mini run after Yelland recorded multiple service aces, giving them a 9-7 lead. UNH clawed back to level the contest at 13 apiece before Hoppes recorded her third kill of the game, giving the hosts a lead at the media timeout. From there, the Eagles used a 7-2 run off a combined five kills from Hoppes and Dunkle to bridge the lead to 22-15. The Wildcats battled to the end, but BC held on to take the set 25-18.

Set two saw Boston College take the early lead with kills from Laney Blevins, Sofija Marjanovic and Hoppes. UNH answered, though, using a 4-0 run to take a three-point lead and force a timeout from BC. The hosts responded with a scoring run of their own, as Yelland recorded another pair of service aces to go along with Dunkle's fifth kill of the contest, making it 16-14. The Wildcats came back with another scoring run, using multiple scoring opportunities to reclaim a three-point edge going into the final frames of the set. BC was able to cut the deficit to as close as 23-22, but UNH closed the set with back-to-back kills, taking it 25-22.

Boston College was on the front foot in the third set, jumping out to an 8-4 lead behind three kills from Hoppes and two from Ross. Despite the Wildcats cutting into the lead, the Eagles stayed in control, eventually recording a 5-1 mini run to take a 16-11 advantage. From there, additional kills from Dunkle, Ross, and Hoppes kept a comfortable cushion for the hosts. With the score at 23-20, BC forced the visitors into back-to-back errors to earn the third set, 25-20.

The middle blocker trio of Naomi Watson, Dunkle and Blevins helped BC grab a 4-0 lead in the fourth and final set of the match. UNH was able to cut the deficit to within two before the Eagles went on a 7-0 scoring run. Dunkle continued her impressive afternoon with back-to-back kills to give them a 15-8 lead going into the media timeout. After the timeout, both sides traded points before kills from Marjanovic and Ross put the Eagles at match point. Then, Ross recorded her 10^th kill of the match to secure the set, 25-20, and the match for Boston College.
