
BC falls 3-1 to Wake Forest

Winston-Salem, N.C – Boston College lost to Wake Forest on Sunday afternoon, the Eagles lost by scores of 21-25, 20-25, and 20-25. BC now moves to 13-5 on the season and 1-3 in the ACC while the Demon Deacons improve to 10-5 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
In a back and forth set one, Wake Forest was able to gain the upper hand and clinch the set off the heels of an important 6-0 run to make the score 16-10. BC was able to fight back and close the gap to 18-16 but it wasnt enough as they lost the set 21-25.
After dropping set two, BC looked to avoid a second straight sweep on the weekend in set three. The Eagles were able to stay live and live to fight another set after a 4-1 run to clinch highlighted by clutch back to back kills from Junior outside hitter Alayna Crabtree (Normal, Ill).
In set four, Boston College fought hard to force a fifth set but came up just short as Wake Forest went on a 6-2 run to clinch the set.
Alayna Crabtree led the way for the Eagles on offense once again posting 13 kills, and adding eight digs and two blocks as well. Grad transfer middle blocker Kate Brennan (Endicott, N.Y) tallied her season high in total blocks with eight as she once again dominated at the net, Brennan also added four kills and two digs of her own.
For the Demon Deacons, Peyton Suess recorded a game-high 18 kills on a .484 hitting percentage and Paige Crawford posted 13 kills as well.
Boston College will be back in action next Friday as they take on the No. 2 Louisville Cardinals in Chestnut Hill at the Margot Connell Recreation Center.
