BC Drops First Match of Home Stand
October 07, 2022 | Volleyball
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College lost to Louisville on Friday evening 0-3, the Eagles lost by scores of 15-25, 20-25 and 13-25. BC now moves to 13-6 on the season and 1-4 in the ACC while Louisville improves to 14-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference.Â
Set one began back and forth as the two sides traded kills, the Eagles even took a 13-11 lead at one point however it almost appeared that the Louisville Cardinals were able to flip a switch as they went on an overwhelming 10-0 run to make it 23-14 ultimately taking the set.Â
The Eagles fought back as best they could in set two holding off the Cardinals for much of the set, it looked like it really could have gone either way right down to the end when the score was 19-18 however once again Louisville proved to be too much for BC.Â
For Louisville, Claire Chaussee led the way on offense with 14 kills on a .393 hitting percentage and Amaya Tillman added 11 kills and eight blocks as well.Â
Junior outside hitter Alayna Crabtree (Normal, Ill) totaled a team-high 11 kills and five digs for the Eagles and Senior right side hitter Izzy Clavenna (Dallas, Texas) posted six kills of her own.Â
Boston College will be back in action to close out the weekend home stand with a match on Sunday at 4 p.m against Notre Dame.Â
