
Eagles Set to Compete at Panorama Farms XC 23 Invitational

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's and women's cross country teams will head down to Charlottesville Va. to compete in the Panorama Farms XC 23 Invitational this Saturday, October 15.Â
The men's 8K is set to begin at 10:00 a.m., with the women's 5K starting at 11:00 a.m.
The meet will include 35 teams in total, with 17 on the men's side and 18 for the women. The men's line will feature four ranked programs: no. 7 Wake Forest, no. 18 Texas, no. 19 Virginia, and no. 30 Charlotte. As for the women, no. 27 Kentucky joins the lineÂ
Virginia announced that two-time Olympic gold medalist and current world-record holder Hicham El Guerrouj will be honored as the guest starter for the event. El Guerrouj will be available for an autograph session immediately following the women's 5k race.
El Guerrouj dominated the 1500-meter distance from 1995 through 2004 as he won four world championships as well as a pair of Olympic gold medals. El Guerrouj currently holds the world record in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:26.00. He also holds the world's fastest mile time at 3:43.13.
In addition to serving as Virginia's home course, Panorama Farms will also be the location for both the 2022 ACC Championships on Friday, Oct. 28, as well as the 2023 NCAA Championships.
