Eagles Travel to Maine for Single Game in Orono

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College visits Maine in Orono on Friday night for a single game at Alfond Arena at 7:30 p.m. to complete the schools' three-game regular season series. The game will be streamed live for free on Collegesportslive.com and pre-game radio coverage on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.com begins at 7:15 p.m.
SETTING THE SCENE
• The Eagles enter the matchup at 10-10-4 overall and 5-7-3 in league play
• BC sits in eighth place in Hockey East but is only four points back of fifth and six back of third
• Following a six-game unbeaten streak to close 2021, BC is winless in its first six games of 2022
• Boston College is making its first trip to Orono since February of 2019
• BC earned a win and tie against the Black Bears on the Heights in November
SERIES HISTORY
• The schools are squaring off for the 134th time in series history on Friday with Boston College holding a 72-51-10 overall advantage over Maine
• BC is riding a four-game unbeaten streak in the series (3-0-1), outscoring the Black Bears 15-6 during that span; all four of those games were played at Kelley Rink
• Boston College took four of six points from Maine back in November, winning 6-2 on Nov. 18 before a 2-2 tie on Nov. 19 (Maine took the extra league point in a shootout)

• Jack McBain was officially named to Canada's Olympic Men's Hockey Team this week and will become the first Eagle to compete for Team Canada in men's ice hockey at the Winter Olympics
• The senior assistant captain is among 21 first-time Olympians on Canada's 25-man roster
• Team Canada will gather in Davos, Switzerland for an eight-day training camp from Jan. 25 to Feb. 1 and will play a pre-tournament game against the Swiss on Feb. 1 before traveling to Beijing
• McBain will face McLaughlin and Helleson of Team USA on Friday, Feb. 11 at 11 p.m. (ET)
• The Toronto native has posted 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points in 18 games this season to lead Hockey East in points per game, despite missing the last six games due to injury
PROVIDENCE RECAP
• Boston College and No. 18 Providence skated to a 1-1 tie on Saturday night at Schneider Arena, but the Friars earned an extra Hockey East point by winning the shootout 2-1 in four rounds
• The Eagles snapped a five-game losing streak following a 7-0 defeat the night before at home
• Senior defenseman Jack St. Ivany scored his fourth goal of the season for BC, while graduate student Eric Dop stopped 38 of the 39 shots he faced
