The Eagles recorded their first ACC road win on Sunday with an 80-74 triumph over Clemson. Cameron Swartz tied a program record with a career-high 39 points on an impressive 14-of-20 shooting from the field. She also added nine rebounds. Taylor Soule scored 13 points, grabbed six boards, and dished out a pair of assists. Makayla Dickens came off the bench to score 12 and led the team with five helpers. BC shot 50 percent from the field and made the shots it needed to whenever Clemson got to within striking distance.Â
Swartz and Gakdeng Sweep Awards
The duo of Swartz and Maria Gakdeng swept the ACC Player of the Week awards, as Swartz was named Player of the Week for the first time in her career and Gakdeng collected Freshman of the Week honors for the third straight week. Gakdeng 15.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and shot 76.5 percent from the floor. She scored a career-high 21 points against the Orange while setting a personal-high with five swats at Clemson. Swartz was also named to NCAA.com's Starting Five after her stellar week.Â
Kayla Lezama and Ally Carman Nominated for McDonald's High School All-Star Game
Incoming 2022 signees, Ally Carman and Kayla Lezama were nominated for this year's McDonald's All-American All-Star Game. Carman is a Top 100 and four-star recruit according to ESPN and the 19th-ranked player at her position. Lezama is one of two in-state commitments. She is a four-year letterwinner at Noble & Greenough School and was named team captain going into this season. She was named a 2018-19 Boston Globe All-Star after averaging 14 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game.Â
