Sigurdarson Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College junior striker Stefan Sigurdarson was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Sigurdarson scored a pair of second half goals last Monday against Boston University with the Eagles down to 10 men. The brace from the Icelandic international lifted BC to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Terriers in the home opener.

Through three games this season, Sigurdarson has a team-high 11 shots which included four in last night's 1-0 shutout of Hartford in Newton.

The junior has 12 goals, 31 points and four game-winning goals in the first 25 games of his NCAA career. As a rookie in 2019, he was named an All-ACC Third Team honoree as well as a member of the All-ACC Freshman Team.

Boston College (2-1-0) has won the first two games of its four-match homestand and hosts Notre Dame on Friday (Sept. 10) at 7 p.m. in the ACC opener.
