Eagles Continue Home Stand Monday Against Hartford

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men's soccer continues a four-game home stand on Monday (Sept. 6) with a Labor Day matchup with Hartford from the America East Conference. Kickoff from the Newton Soccer Complex on ACC Network Extra is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
BATTLE OF COMM AVE
• Down to 10 men and down a goal at halftime, Stefan Sigurdarson's brace in the second half fueled a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Boston University in the home opener on Monday
• The Eagles extended their unbeaten streak against the Terriers to eight games
• BU's Quinn Matulis converted a penalty kick inside the left post in the 28th minute, and Moritz Frahm was sent off just three minutes later for a sliding challenge.
• Just a minute into the second half, Sigurdarson's first goal of the night brought BC level
• In the 62nd minute, Shapiro-Thompson sent Sigurdarson into the offensive third and the junior beat Francesco Montali high to the near post
• Boston College out-shot Boston University 17-8 overall and 6-3 in shots on goal
