Eagles fall in straight sets at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

DURHAM, N.C. – The Boston College volleyball team was swept at Duke, 3-0, on Friday night inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Eagles dropped to 11-5 overall and evened their ACC record at 1-1, while the Blue Devils improved to 10-2 and 1-0.

BC lost in straight sets by scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-20.

The Eagles came alive for the second set, fighting back from a 17-10 deficit to tie it 18-18. However, Duke claimed a two sets to none lead with a 6-1 run to close out the game.

The Blue Devils outhit the Eagles .289 to .029 for the match. Duke's Rylie Kadel led all players with 11 kills on a .500 hitting percentage. Graduate outside hitter Clare Naughton (Atlanta, Ga.) led BC with eight kills to go with eight digs.

Sophomore setter Grace Penn (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) totaled 13 assists and sophomore libero Anna Murphy (Zionsville, Ind.) collected 12 digs.

The Eagles return home Friday, Oct. 1 for an 8 p.m. match against Virginia Tech on ACCNX.
