Demon Deacons Outlast Eagles

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's soccer team battled Wake Forest in ACC action on Thursday night at the Newton Campus Soccer Field, but the Demon Deacons outlasted the Eagles for a 1-0 victory.

Wake Forest put home what would be the eventual game-winning goal in the 30th minute and then held the Eagles' second-half pressure at bay to hang on for the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

30' | Goalkeeper Wiebke Willebrandt charged out and got her hands on a low pass sent across the box but as her hands closed around the ball, Hulda Arnarsdottir slid and knocked it across the goal line.

GAME NOTES

Boston College is now 8-8-2 in the all-time series with Wake Forest … the Eagles are 6-3-1 at home against the Demon Deacons.
Fourteen of the 18 meetings in the series have been decided by one goal or less.
The teams were even in shots at 14 each while BC had the 7-6 edge in corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Wiebke Willebrandt finished with three saves for the Eagles.
This marked the ACC home opener for the Eagles.
