No. 3 Eagles Move to 6-0 with Sunday Win Over BU

Fusine Govaert scored two goals and logged an assist
NEWTON, Mass. — Fusine Govaert tallied two goals - including the eventual gamewinner in the 45th minute - as No. 3 Boston College downed Boston University, 3-2.
With the win, BC moves to 6-0 on the season and ties the best start in program history. The Eagles also opened the 2009 campaign with a six consecutive victories.
BC started fast, scoring two goals within the first 7:11 of play. Sarah Johnson got the scoring going, taking a pass from Govaert, right to left, and depositing it in the left side of the cage. Govaert tallied her first goal of the afternoon less than a minute later, off a blast set up by Olivia Hahn off the penalty corner.
BU would respond in the second quarter, converting an chance off a penalty corner in the 25th minute. The Terriers would tie it up in the 42nd minute, again off a penalty corner opportunity.
Govaert's go-ahead gamewinner came less than three minutes later, set up by Juliette Hijdra.
The Eagles held a 28-6 edge in shots, including a 19-3 advantage in shots on-goal.
Boston College returns to action on Friday, Sept. 17 when it hosts Syracuse at the Field Hockey complex in Newton. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
