Margo Carlin tallies her second goal of season in 3-1 loss to No. 14 Syracuse
NEWTON, Mass. — No. 3 Boston College dropped its first match of the season, 3-1, to No. 14 Syracuse in the ACC opener for both teams.
The Orange scored two goals in the second quarter, taking a 2-0 lead into the halftime break. Cuse held a 10-2 advantage in shots in the first half.
After tacking on another goal in the third, Margo Carlin beat Orange goalkeeper Brooke Borzymowski in the 46th minute, making it 3-1 in the fourth.
For the game, Syracuse held a 15-7 edge in shots - including 8-5 in shots on-goal. BC attempted four penalty corners to three for Cuse.
The loss drops the Eagles to 6-1 overall, tying for the best start in program history through seven games. BC returns to action on Sunday, when it travels to New Hampshire.
