
Five Named Inside Lacrosse All-Americans

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Inside Lacrosse has released its 2021 All-Americans, with five Eagles being named to the list. Headlining the group is Charlotte North on the first team, while Belle Smith and Hollie Schleicher have been named to the third team, and Cara Urbank and Jenn Medjid as honorable mentions.
North has had one of the best statistical seasons in the country, scoring 86 goals and adding 10 assists for 96 points. She's second in the nation in goals and fourth in goals per game at 4.78. Not only has she been dominant on offense, she has also been dominant in the circle. North has 163 draw controls this season, which is second in the country and tied for the second-most in a single season at BC. Earlier this year against Virginia Tech, she broke the BC record for goals in a game and then broke the BC record for goals in a NCAA Tournament game with eight against Temple.
A native of Dallas, North was an All-ACC first team selection and one of five Tewaaraton Award finalists, given to the nation's best player. She was also selected as a USA Lacrosse First Team All-American and to the IWLCA All-Northeast Region first team.
Schleicher, an All-ACC first team selection, moved from the midfield to defense this season. She has 74 draw controls, 24 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers so far this season. Her 74 draws are the ninth-most in a single season at BC. She was also selected as a USA Lacrosse Second Team All-American and to the IWLCA All-Northeast Region first team.
Smith was the only freshman named to any all-region first team and the only freshman on either the All-ACC first or second team. She has 43 goals and 12 assists for 55 points this year. Smith is currently tied with Covie Stanwick and Brooke Blue for the most points in a freshman season at BC.
A native of Westhampton, New York, Smith was also named the Inside Lacrosse Midseason Rookie of the Year, USA Lacrosse Third Team All-American and to the IWLCA All-Northeast Region first team. Smith is the only true freshman All-American named.
Medjid has been one of BC's top scoring threats this year, scoring 50 goals with 16 assists this season. She was an All-ACC second team selection earlier this season. Against Louisville on March 28, Medjid tied the BC record for goals in a game, scoring nine in BC's 18-3 win on just 11 shots. So far in the NCAA Tournament, she has 15 points on eight goals and seven assists in two games. She was also selected as a USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American and to the IWLCA All-Northeast Region first team.
Urbank, an All-ACC second team selection, has been one of BC's most versatile attackers, totaling a career-high 75 points on 36 goals and 39 assists this year. She has also been a part of the draw team, grabbing 59 draws this season. In the last game against Temple, Urbank tallied her 200th-career point, becoming the 11th Eagle to do so. She was also selected as a USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American and to the IWLCA All-Northeast Region first team.
