Mendelsohn Victorious in Third Singles Against No. 41 Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – The Eagles started their ACC weekend on the road in North Carolina against Duke on Friday afternoon at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center, losing by a final score of 6-1.

Boston College dropped to 2-7 (0-7 ACC), while the 41st-ranked Blue Devils improved to 9-7 overall (4-3 ACC).

The doubles match on court one between Sean Sculley and Edu Guell against Max Motlagh and Sean Mullins went unfinished at 4-3, but the Blue Devils clinched the doubles point in the No. 2 spot behind Michael Heller and Andrew Zhang.

Senior Max Mendelsohn was the only Eagle to register a point on the board for Boston College, defeating Duke's Samuel Rubell in the No. 3 singles slot in straight sets. All other singles matches were decided in straight sets by Duke. The No. 2 singles match was retired by Motlagh due to forfeit following a tight first set.

BC makes the short trip to take on No. 2 North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Saturday morning (April 3) at 11 a.m.
