Eagles Fall on the Road at Second-Ranked North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Boston College completed its ACC weekend road trip at the second-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday afternoon, losing by a score of 7-0 at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.Â

The Eagles fell to 2-8 (0-8 ACC), while UNC improved to 13-1 overall (6-1 ACC). Â

The fifth-ranked doubles tandem of William Blumberg and Brian Cernoch defeated BC's duo of Max Motlagh and Sean Mullins 6-2 on court one. UNC's Adam Neff and Benjamin Sigouin clinched the doubles point for the Tar Heels in second doubles.Â

North Carolina kept the momentum going in singles, as all six players won their matches in straight sets including four ranked Tar Heels. Motlagh played a competitive first set against Sigouin, the 80th-ranked player in the nation, while Max Mendelsohn kept it tight early against No. 66 Cernoch.

Boston College hits the road again next weekend to Florida to take on Florida State (April 9) and Miami (April 11).Â
