Heckman Nets Overtime Winner, Eagles Top Huskies

NEWTON, Mass. – Alison Heckman scored in the 109th minute to lift the Boston College women's soccer team to a 1-0 overtime victory over Northeastern on Thursday night at the Newton Campus Soccer Field. Zoie Allen registered her first collegiate point with an assist on Heckman's winning goal.
BC carried the play in the early going – and outshot Northeastern in the first and second half – but after a scoreless 90 minutes of regulation, the Huskies and Eagles headed to overtime. The Eagles kept pushing for the winner and eventually found it with Allen lofting a ball to Heckman in the final minutes of extra time.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 109' | Allen worked the ball on the left top corner of the box, taking a defender on one-on-one, before cutting one step back to the middle and chipping a ball with her right foot towards the far post. Heckman timed her run and one-touched the ball over the goalkeeper.
- Boston College had the 22-9 lead lead in shots and a 5-4 edge in shots on goal.
- The Eagles had the 9-4 lead in corner kicks.
- Allie Augur finished with four saves for the Eagles … Angeline Friel had four saves for Northeastern.
- Augur earned her second consecutive shutout ... it is the sixth shutout of her career.
- The Eagles now hold a mark of 16-0-1 in the all-time series with Northeastern … BC is now 12-0-0 all-time at home against the Huskies.
- This was the seventh consecutive game in the series between Northeastern and Boston College that was decided by one goal … it was the third consecutive 1-0 win for BC in the series.
- Alison Heckman recorded her first goal of the season … it was the second goal of her collegiate career and the first game-winning goal of her career.
- Zoie Allen registered her first collegiate point with the assist on Heckman's goal.
- This marked BC's first overtime win since a 3-2 overtime win at Pitt on Oct. 26, 2017.
- Jenna Bike and Sam Smith led all players on the night with two shots on goal each.
