Second-Half Surge Lifts No. 1 Tar Heels Over No. 11 BC

CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina – After a back-and-forth first half, No. 1 North Carolina pulled away from the No. 11 Boston College women's lacrosse team to win 21-9 at Dorrance Field in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Saturday, March 6.
Charlotte North led the Eagles with three goals on eight shots, while Courtney Weeks and Jenn Medjid both tallied a pair of goals.
North Carolina struck first before BC scored three-straight from North, Caitlynn Mossman and Medjid gave BC a 3-1 lead early in the first half.
The Tar Heels then closed the first half on a 9-4 run to take a 10-7 lead into the break.
Carolina showed why they were the No. 1 team in the country coming out of halftime, scoring seven-straight goals. Weeks then scored her pair of goals, before UNC would close the game with four more goals.
The Eagles showed some positives moving forward, going 11-11 on clears and getting 18 draw controls to UNC's 14.
In goal, Rachel Hall made six saves.

Boston College returns home and will face No. 9 Virginia on Saturday, March 13 at the Newton Lacrosse and Soccer Field. The game will be televised on ACC Network at 2 p.m.
