
Offense Leads No. 6 BC over Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The No. 6 Boston College lacrosse team used its offense to beat Hofstra on Long Island, 19-7, on Saturday, March 20.
Seniors Cara Urbank (2G, 5A) and Charlotte North (6G, 1A) led the way for BC, each notching seven points. The five assists and seven points are a career-high for Urbank.
Long Island native Belle Smith put up a career-high five goals back on her home soil.
The Eagles outshot the Pride, 36-23, while getting 16 draw controls to Hofstra's 11.
BC jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead and followed a pair of Hofstra goals with a 8-0 run. North scored four of her six goals in the first 15 minutes of the game.
Courtney Weeks scored BC's first two goals of the second half before Hofstra went on a 5-0 run themselves from the 23:57 mark to 15:19. BC wouldn't let them score again, scoring the game's last seven goals, three of which came from Smith and two from Urbank.
It was a battle of last week's IWLCA Co-Offensive Player of the Week, but BC held Hofstra's Alyssa Parrella to one goal on one shot.
In goal, Rachel Hall made seven saves on 14 shots on goal to earn her fifth win of the season.
The Eagles had six with double-digit points along with Urbank, North, Smith and Courtney Weeks. Caitlynn Mossman had a goal and an assist, while Jenn Medjid had two goals.
BC improves to 5-1 on the year.

BC is back home against Louisville for a pair of games on Friday, March 26 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 28 at 11 a.m.
