Eagles Dominate Middle Innings in Midweek Win

BC lineup posts 18 Runs on 18 hits in defeat of Holy Cross.
Trailing 3-2 and with the bases loaded with two gone in the fourth, BC tied the game on a catcher's interference and went in front on an infield-single by graduate shortstop Brian Dempsey (Potomac, Md.). The Eagles pulled away with a five-run fifth; capped by a bases-loaded triple to right off the bat of Dempsey, who finished the day 3-for-4 with four RBI and two walks out of the leadoff spot.
Sophomore second baseman Vince Cimini (Scranton, Pa.) contributed a 4-for-4 day with two doubles, two walks and three runs scored. Freshman left fielder Cameron Leary (Bethpage, N.Y.) added a 2-for-4 game with four RBI and two runs.
Freshman right-hander Joey Ryan (Norwell, Mass.) was the first reliever of the day for Boston College. He tossed two-scoreless innings in relief of graduate RHP Alex Stiegler (Dallas, Texas). Ryan (3-0) scattered two hits and a walk to go with an inning-ending double play in the third.
