
Trio of Eagles Named Hockey East All-Stars

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Three Boston College women's hockey players were recognized by Hockey East on Saturday when the league office announced the 2020-21 all-star teams. Cayla Barnes and Kelly Browne were named Hockey East First Team All-Stars while Hannah Bilka was named a Hockey East Third-Team All-Star. Earlier this week, Gaby Roy earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team.

Browne, who was a third-team selection as a sophomore, was voted to the First Team after racking up 20 points on seven goals and 13 assists during the regular season. The captain's 20 points tie for fourth in Hockey East and ninth in the country. Browne also sits fifth in the country and tied for first in Hockey East with 219 face-off wins while her 60.2 winning percentage is fourth nationally among players with at least 200 wins. The Burlington, Mass. native kicked off the season with a career-long six-game point streak and has registered points in 13 of BC's 18 contests and has six multi-point games. Browne has been on the ice for 25 even-strength goals, which is sixth in Hockey East, and has a plus-15 rating, which ranks ninth.

Barnes earns her third consecutive all-star honor after a second-team nod in 2020 and a third-team nod as a rookie in 2019. The captain finished the regular season with nine points on three goals and six assists, including two game-winning goals and two power-play points. Barnes has blocked 33 shots to lead the Eagles and rank fifth in Hockey East. She has fired 53 shots on goal to sit eighth nationally among defenders and she sports a plus-10 rating which is eighth among Hockey East blue liners.

Bilka registered 15 points on seven goals and eight assists during the regular season, good for a tie for seventh in Hockey East. The sophomore also tied for the national lead in short-handed goals with two and potted one game-winning goal. Bilka, who was a Second-Team All-Star, Rookie of the Year and unanimous All-Rookie selection last season, led the Eagles during the regular season with 73 shots on goal. The Coppell, Texas native currently sports a seven-game point streak and has at least one point in 13 of BC's 18 contests.

With Browne, Barnes and BIlka, the program now has 58 Hockey East All-Star honorees, with 48 of them coming under head coach Katie Crowley.
