
Familiar Foe Awaits No. 6 BC in Hockey East Tournament Quarterfinal

The single elimination game between the second-seeded Eagles and the seventh-seeded Huskies is set for 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28 at Kelley Rink. The game will be shown live on NESN and will also be available on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports app.
Hockey East announced earlier this month that the 2021 women's and men's tournaments will be single-elimination format with each game hosted at the home arena of the higher seed. Semifinals will take place on Wednesday, March 3 and the championship game will be held on Saturday, March 6 to determine the winner of the Bertagna Trophy.

WHAT'S ON TAP
• Boston College and UConn will square off in the Hockey East Tournament Quarterfinal round on Sunday afternoon at Kelley Rink.
• This marks the third consecutive season that the Eagles are hosting the Huskies in the quarterfinal round and the fourth straight year they're meeting in the playoffs.
• This is also the sixth time this season that the teams will see each other ... BC took all five regular season meetings.
ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE
• The Eagles finished an 18-game regular season slate at 14-4-0 ... BC split a two-game series with rival BU last weekend, with each team winning their road game.
• Kelly Browne and Savannah Norcross are tied for the team lead in points with 20 each, a number which also places them ninth in the country ... 13 different players have scored goals while nine players have at least eight points each.
• Norcross has a team-high 11 goals, which also ranks second in Hockey East and fifth in the nation ... Browne has 13 assists and seven goals while also sitting fifth in the nation with 219 face-off wins.
• Hadley Hartmetz is tied for second nationally among defenders in scoring with 14 points on one goal and 13 helpers, with her assists sitting first in the nation among defenders ... additionally she has been on the ice for 30 even-strength goals, which ranks second nationally among all players.
• Abigail Levy is 6-2-0 with a 1.22 goals against average, .959 save percentage and two shutouts ... Maddy McArthur (5-1-0) and Kelly Pickreign (3-1-0) have also picked up wins in goal for the Eagles.
ABOUT UCONN
• UConn finished the regular season at 8-9-1 ... the Huskies last played on Feb. 13, picking up a 4-2 win at Holy Cross to finish off a weekend sweep after a 1-0 win at home on Feb. 12.
• Viki Harkness leads the way for UConn offensively with 14 points on three goals and 11 assists ... three players have recorded six goals each for UConn in Savannah Bouzide (6-7-13), Natalie Snodgrass (6-4-10) and Danika Pasqua (6-2-8) ... three of Snodgrass' goals are game-winners.
• Camryn Wong has 219 face-off wins, which ties with Kelly Browne for the most in Hockey East.
• Tia Chan and Samantha Carpentier-Yelle both started nine games during the season ... Chan went 4-4-1 with a 1.43 goals against average, .948 save percentage and two shutouts ... Carpentier-Yelle was 4-5-0 with a .921 save percentage, 2.11 goals against average and three shutouts.
• Chris MacKenzie is in his eighth season as head coach of the Huskies.
SERIES NOTES
• The Eagles lead the all-time series between the teams, 43-19-10 ... BC has a mark of 25-9-2 against the Huskies at Kelley Rink ... BC is 16-9-8 against UConn in Storrs and 2-1-0 in neutral site meetings.
• BC won all five regular season meetings this year ... the Eagles earned 5-3 (Dec. 3) and 4-0 (Jan. 31) road wins while defending home ice with a 2-1 overtime (Jan. 23), 3-2 (Jan. 30) and 3-1 (Dec. 5).
• UConn won the regular season series in 2019-20 at 2-1-0 ... on Nov. 9, the Huskies skated to a 5-2 win in Storrs in what was the first loss of the season for BC ... the teams then traded 2-1 road wins in a home-and-home series, with UConn winning on Nov. 22 at Kelley Rink and BC taking a 2-1 game on Nov. 23 in Storrs ... • The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead at home on Friday only to see the Terriers score three unanswered for the comeback win.
• On Saturday, the teams played two scoreless periods for the first time in series history ... Jillian Fey broke the deadlock midway through the third and Hannah Bilka made it 2-0 just 18 seconds later ... Abigail Levy made 35 saves to earn the shutout, the first for BC against BU in 17 games (March 6, 2016).
• Levy finished the weekend with a 1.50 goals against average and .952 save percentage after stopping 59 of the 62 shots she saw.
