Eagles Hit the Road to Play Notre Dame and Louisville

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women's tennis (1-1) travels to Notre Dame on Friday (Feb. 19) for a 3 p.m. ACC match against the Fighting Irish. The Eagles then head to Louisville for a 12 p.m. contest on Sunday (Feb. 21) against the Cardinals. The Notre Dame match will have live video at und.com.Â

OPENING WEEKEND
• Boston College began the season last weekend by beating Army 7-0 but fell to Syracuse 5-2 in a tight ACC opener in Weymouth
• Senior Natasha Irani and junior Laura Lopez both went 2-0 in singles play to open the season
• Rookies Marice Aguiar and Sophia Edwards picked up singles and doubles victories in their NCAA debuts against Army
• The No. 25 doubles team of Yufei Long and Kylie Wilcox won in a tiebreaker against SU's top tandem of Sofya Treshcheva and Polina Kozyreva

• Notre Dame enters the matchup at 7-3 overall following non-conference home victories over Bowling Green (5-2) and Marquette (6-1) last weekend
• The Irish is 7-0 at home with road losses to UNC, Old Dominion and Kentucky
• Cameron Corse is No. 109 in the ITA singles rankings; Corse and Page Freeman are ranked 19th nationally in doubles
• Last year against the Irish in Weymouth, Boston College stormed back from 3-1 down to tie the match but Zoe Spence pulled out a third set over Kylie Wilcox 6-4 for the deciding point
• Yufei Long and Laura Lopez each posted singles victories on Courts 1 and 4, with Long beating Corse in straight sets

• Louisville enters the weekend at 3-2 overall and will host Syracuse on Friday prior to the Eagles' arrival in Kentucky
• Last Friday, the Cardinals fell 5-2 on the road at 15th-ranked Vanderbilt
• Louisville has won the doubles point in all five of its matches this season
• The schools did not meet last season due to COVID-19
• Two years ago, Boston College defeated Louisville 5-2 in the regular season and again by a 4-1 final in the ACC Tournament
• The Cards closed last season with an 8-6 (0-4 ACC) record
