
Volleyball Back in Action Saturday vs. Northeastern

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. --Â Boston College volleyball resumes its 2020-21 season with a non-conference match-up against Northeastern Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. in Power Gym. The game is closed to fans, but will be streamed on ACCNX.
About the Eagles...
BC played all eight of its fall matches against top-15 competition; wrapping up the fall semester with No. 5 Notre Dame at home. Leading the Eagles' attack is senior outside hitter Clare Naughton at 2.85 kills per set to go with 2.44 digs per set on the other side of the ball. She posted a 13-kill, 19-dig double-double in the fall finale. Sophomore middle blocker Gabby McCaa continues to produce at the net and is hitting a team-best .333 with 23 kills and 25 blocks. Freshman Anna Murphy leads the Eagles' back row with 3.38 digs per set. Boston College's 6-2 offense features a pair of freshman setters; Sophia Lambros and Grace Penn. Lambros averages a team-high 4.67 assists per set, while Penn adds 4.07.
All-Time vs. Northeastern...
The Eagles trail the all-time series against the Huskies, 11-19. Northeastern won th first five matches of the series from 1990-1992 before Boston College rattled off six straight wins from 1993-96; the longest win streak for either side in the series. The Huskies have won three in a row and seven of the last eight with the Eagles last claiming a win at home in 2015; a 3-0 sweep.
Last Time They Met...
BC closed out the New England Challenge at Northeastern, with a 3-1 loss to the host at the Cabot Center on Spt. 15, 2018. The Huskies took the first two sets 25-19 and 25-21. BC rallied to take the third 25-23 before ultimately falling 25-16 in th fourth. The Eagles hit just .114 as they dropped to 10-2 on the season. McKenna Goss led BC with 17 kills and a .366 attack percentage. Middle blocker Ally Mullen led the defnse with five blocks and Makenzie Morrison added 18 digs.
