Zion Johnson and Alec Lindstrom Named All-ACC First Team
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Â A pair of Boston College offensive linemen highlighted BC's 12 All-ACC selections, as announced Tuesday on ACC Network's Packer and Durham Show.

Each of the conference's 14 teams earned at least three selections to the All-ACC teams, which were chosen by a voting panel of 50 media members and each of the league's head coaches. Three points were awarded for each first-team vote, two points for each second-team vote, and one point for each third-team selection.

Zion Johnson earned All-ACC accolades for the third time in his career and the first time he secured a spot on the All-ACC first team. The Maryland native has allowed zero pressures in 2021 according to ESPN's advanced stats and just one sack in 2,288 career snaps at BC. He graded out as the seventh-best guard nationally (83.4) according to Pro Football Focus (min. 700 snaps). Johnson is listed as the No. 1 guard in the 2022 NFL Draft according to ESPN's Todd McShay and rated the No. 32 overall prospect for the 2022 NFL Draft by McShay.

Alec Lindstrom repeated as the ACC's top center for the second straight season, becoming the first BC center to be named to the All-ACC first team two times. Lindstrom has the No. 3 pass blocking grade in the country at center (84.6) according to Pro Football Focus and allowed just one sack and two quarterback hits in 2021. He is rated the No. 5 center for the 2022 NFL Draft by ESPN's Todd McShay.

Two sophomores for Boston College collected All-ACC accolades for the first time in their respective careers as running back Pat Garwo and offensive guard Christian Mahogany were named to the All-ACC second team.

Garwo finished the regular season as the No. 4 rusher in the ACC with 1,045 rushing yards. He became the 19th player in BC history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, including a career-high 175 yards rushing in the win over Missouri. Garwo was a two-time ACC RB of the Week in 2021.

Mahogany allowed just one pressure in 2021 according to ESPN's advanced stats and graded out as the No. 9 guard nationally (82.5) according to Pro Football Focus (min. 700 snaps). The New Jersey native committed just one penalty this season and was a three-time Pro Football Focus National Team of the Week selection in 2021.

Junior Josh DeBerry was named All-ACC for the second straight season, this time on the All-ACC second team at cornerback. DeBerry rated as the No. 19 nationally for all cornerbacks (82.2) according to Pro Football Focus and was No. 8 nationally against the run (88.4) by PFF. He is fourth on the team in tackles (53), led BC in TFLs (8.0) and second in interceptions (2), despite missing the last two games due to injury.

Zay Flowers was named to the All-ACC third team at wide receiver after leading the Eagles in receiving. Flowers was ranked in the Top 10 in the ACC in receiving yards (746) in 2021, despite missing BC's No. 1 quarterback for six games. Flowers is fifth in BC history in career touchdown receptions (17), 10th in school history in receiving yards (1,979) and 12th all-time at BC in receptions (122). It marked the second time in Flowers' career he collected All-ACC honors after being named to the All-ACC first team in 2020.

Ben Petrula collected All-ACC honors for the fourth time in his career after being named to the All-ACC third team at offensive tackle. Petrula owns the longest current consecutive starts streak at 60 games in the nation. He was named All-ACC honorable mention at tackle in 2018 and All-ACC second team in 2019 and 2020.

Brandon Sebastian was named to the All-ACC third team at cornerback, marking the first time in his career he was named All-ACC. He is tied for the national lead with 0.4 interceptions per game and finished the regular season with four interceptions in just nine games (missed three games with a knee injury).

Four Eagles were named All-ACC honorable mention, including offensive tackle Tyler Vrabel, tight end Trae Barry, defensive end Marcus Valdez and safety Jaiden Woodbey.
