About the Eagles
Last Time Out
Behind a combined 32 points from Taylor Soule (21 points) and Maria Gakdeng (11 points) and a stingy defense, the Eagles outlasted Northeastern on Wednesday, 57-46. BC used an 18-5 run over the final eight minutes to pull away for the win. Makayla Dickens and Jaelyn Batts had a hand in 14 of the points with eight points and three assists. The BC defense held Northeastern to a season low in points and field goal percentage at 32.2 percent.Â
A Win Would
- Give the Eagles a 5-1 mark on the season.Â
- Up BC's win streak to a season-long three games.Â
- Give BC a 1-0 record against Albany.
- Give the Eagles a fourth straight home win dating back to last season.Â
By the Numbers
4 - Soule is one of four players along with Ayoka Lee (Kansas State), Rhetta Moore (North Florida) and Kaelyn Young (Murray State) to average at least 19 points and shoot at least 65 percent from the field.Â
26 - The Eagles have won 26 straight games when allowing 65 points or less.Â
26 - Dickens is 26 points away from becoming the 30th member of the 1,000-point club.Â
35 - BC has held its opponents to 35 percent or lower in all four victories.Â
62.5 -Â The Eagles shot a season-high 62.5 percent from inside the arc.Â
66.6 - BC has assisted on 66.7 percent of its baskets in its four wins.Â
What to Watch for
- In the four wins this season, the Eagles are allowing opponents to shoot just 34.9 percent from the field (48.1 percent in loss). See if the BC defense can force Albany into tough shots.
- Albany is averaging 16.7 offensive rebounds per game, which is 28th in the country. Watch if the Eagles can keep the Great Danes off the glass.
- In two of Albany's losses, its opponents assisted on 67 percent (29-43) of its baskets. Watch if the Eagles can do the same, as they have assisted on just over 61 percent of their field goals this season.
- In two of the Great Danes' contests, their opponents recorded at least 12 steals. Watch if the Eagles can force Albany into mistakes.
- Over the last three games, Gakdeng is averaging 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, and shooting 68.2 percent from the floor. Watch if the freshman continues her solid play down low.Â
Scouting Albany

- UA's lone win came against Hofstra in the season opener.

- Lucia Decortes scored in double figures with 12 points and tied for the lead with eight rebounds.Â
- Ellen Hahne (11.0 ppg) and Haegerstrand (10.7 ppg) lead the team in scoring.Â
- Decortes' 6.0 rpg is a team best.Â
- UA is 27th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 51 points per game.Â
