
BU Holds Off BC in Battle of Comm Ave

The Terriers held on for a wild 5-4 win at Walter Brown Arena.
BOSTON – In a wild Battle of Commonwealth Avenue, the Boston University Terriers came out on top of the No.10 Boston College women's hockey team, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon at Walter Brown Arena.
After the Terriers jumped out to a 2-0 lead less than five minutes into the game, BC went on to keep fighting back to tie the game three separate times. The Eagles tied the game up at 2-2 before the end of the first period and then tied the game up at 3-3 and 4-4 before the Terriers struck with four minutes to go for the 5-4 final.

- 1st, 1:52 | 0-1, BU GOAL: Nadia Mattivi's shot from the top of the point on the power play beat Levy low.
- 1st, 4:08 | 0-2, BU GOAL: Julia Shaunessy skated into the left circle and wristed a shot that Levy saved but Emma Wuthrich was on the doorstep to stuff the rebound home.
- 1st, 10:18 | 1-2, BC GOAL: Caroline DiFiore put presser on a defender at the defensive blue line, stripping the puck and then skating in alone on Shanahan. DiFiore's first attempt was saved but she poked the rebound five-hole.
- 1st, 15:25 | 2-2, BC GOAL: Olivia O'Brien walked the circle and then centered a pass that deflected out to Sidney Fess at the point. Fess wristed her shot inside the right post.
- 2nd,14:35 | 2-3, BU GOAL: From the right corner, Shaunessy centered the puck to the top of the crease for Mackenna Parker to pop home.
- 3rd, :22 | 3-3, BC GOAL: Breaking into the zone while on the penalty kill, Maddie Crowley-Cahill fed Caroline Goffredo crashing to the net and she finished it five-hole.
- 3rd, 4:32 | 3-4, BU GOAL: Shaunessy and Christina Vote came into the zone on a 2-on-1 and Vote's wrist shot from the circle but Levy high.
- 3rd, 7:56 | 4-4, BC GOAL: Alexie Guay centered the puck to the front of the net and Goffredo was able to get a piece of it and Kelly Browne finished it from the top of the crease.
- 3rd, 16:13 | 4-5, BU GOAL: On another odd-player rush, Courtney Correia wristed a shot past Levy.
- Boston University held the 46-35 lead in shots on goal … the Terriers went 1-for-5 on the power play while the Eagles were 1-for-4.
- BC now holds a record of 32-24-7 in the all-time series with BU … the Eagles are 15-11-2 against the Terriers at Walter Brown Arena … head coach Katie Crowley is now 27-23-6 in her career against BU.
- Sidney Fess scored her first career goal.
- Caroline DiFiore scored her first goal of the season.
- Abigail Levy finished with 40 saves for the Eagles … it was the 12th time this season that Levy has finished with at least 30 saves for BC.
- Kelly Browne had a game-high 16 face-off wins … Browne also scored her fifth goal of the season ... it was Browne's fifth career goal against BU, and the fourth on the power-play.
- Abby Newhook and Gaby Roy had their point streaks snapped at four games each.
- Deirdre Mullowney had a game-high three blocked shots.
