Softball Announces Class of '22 Recruits

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College softball has announced that five student-athletes have signed their National Letter of Intent to join the Eagles in the fall of 2022, according to head coach Amy Kvilhaug. This nationally ranked class (#47 according to Extra Inning Softball) has one player coming from Louisiana, one from North Carolina, one from Pennsylvania, and two from Arizona.

Joining the Eagles are LHP Halie Pappion of Lake Charles, La., OF Aleyah Terrell of Greensboro, N.C., RHP Gabby Aughton of Gibsonia, Pa., C/1B Maycee Hilt of Peoria, Ariz., and UTL Meghan Schouten of Paradise Valley, Ariz.

"We couldn't be more excited about the 2022 recruiting class and their families. They are all such wonderful people," says Kvilhaug. "As we continue to build a strong foundation for future success for Boston College softball, the '22's will add power, speed, athleticism and pitching to the mix. All of our commits play travel ball at the highest level and many have competed for national championships and have won high school state championships. It goes without saying that we have a group of competitive winners joining the BCSB family. It's been fun watching the chemistry of the class already begin to mold as the girls have begun forming friendships and bonds well before arriving on The Heights. It will certainly help the student-athletes having this kind of familiarity with one another both on and off the field at Boston College."

Coach K on Halie: "Halie is a talented and highly decorated lefty, throws in the mid-60's, changes speeds well, and has won several championships. Pap significantly deepens our pitching staff and will figure to be an impact pitcher for us. I am excited to see what she will do for us in the ACC."

Coach K on Aleyah: "We are thrilled to add Aleyah to the Eagle family. She is one of the best outfielders in the country adding depth to our OF and speed and athleticism to our lineup. She's a fiery competitor and super hard worker who will elevate the play of everyone around her. She hit lead-off for one of the best teams in the country last summer so has a great deal of high level experience."

Gabby Aughton, RHP, Gibsonia, Pa.

Grandfather pitched at Ohio University. Two of her cousins also played collegiate softball

Coach K on Gabby: "Gabby is a hard throwing righty who will add depth to our pitching staff and has demonstrated that she can pitch successfully at the highest level. She is a detail oriented pitcher that loves to put the work in. She had a great summer with Top Gun and we are excited about what she will do for us at BC."
