
Laura Lopez, Marice Aguiar Go Undefeated In Doubles At Brown

Eagles secured 4 doubles wins and 10 singles wins over three-day event
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Two weeks removed from the Super Regional Tournament at Princeton, the Eagles traveled to Brown University to compete in the Brown Hidden Dual Tournament. Over the three-day event, the Eagles competed in singles and doubles matches against Brown, Harvard, and Columbia.
Captain Natasha Irani went a perfect 3-0 in singles, defeating Sophia Reddy of Brown in straight sets 7-6(4), 6-0, and then taking down opponents from Harvard (6-2, 3-6, 10-3) and Columbia (6-3, 3-6, 10-5) on Saturday and Sunday.
The dynamic duo of fellow captain Laura Lopez and Marice Aguiar went undefeated in open doubles, never losing more than four games in a match. On Friday they beat a team from Brown 6-2 and followed it up with wins against duos from Harvard (6-4) and Columbia (6-4) over the last two days. Aguiar went 2-1 in open singles with wins against Brown and Harvard, with Lopez adding a singles win over Harvard.
Sophia Edwards and Muskan Mahajan joined Lopez and Aguiar to sweep Harvard in open doubles, winning their match 6-3 on Saturday. Edwards added two singles wins in straight sets to go 2-1 on the weekend, beating Addison Ahlstrom of Brown (6-1, 6-4) on Friday and Harvard's Demi Snyder (6-2, 6-4) on Saturday. Mahajan added a singles win of her own, defeating Brown's Lindsey Hofflander in straight sets on Friday (6-4, 6-4).
On Saturday, Hailey Wilcox won her singles match against Brown's Selena Williams without losing a single game (6-0, 6-0), contributing to a 5-1 overall record in open singles on Day Two.
