October 05, 2021 | Men's Soccer
BROOKLINE, Mass. – Boston College scored twice in the first half and held on late to beat Northeastern 2-1 on Tuesday night in non-conference action at Parsons Field.
The Eagles improved to 4-4-2 (0-2-2 ACC) and pushed their all-time record against NU to 13-1-1, handing the Huskies (7-3-1, 2-1-0 CAA) just their third loss of the season.
Just two minutes into the match, rookie Drew Serafino made lateral moves around numerous Northeastern defenders and fired a left-footed shot off the right post to beat Colby Hegarty for his first collegiate goal.
With only 1:34 left in first half, Michael Suski was taken down from behind near the top of the NU box. Suski struck the ensuing penalty into the bottom right corner to double the Eagles' lead with his fourth goal of the season.
Northeastern battled back in the second half and pulled within one in the 74th minute when Eren Senyuva blasted a left-footed shot into the upper right corner from 30 yards out.
Making his third straight start, Brennan Klein later dove to his right to push a Dan Munch effort off the left post to preserve the lead. Victor Souza also made a clearance off the goal line following an NU corner kick in the 85th minute.
Klein finished the night with four saves to collect his first career win.
BC returns to ACC play on Friday (Oct. 8) in Charlottesville against Virginia. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. on ACC Network and NESN.
