One of 20 Small Forwards to Make List
Boston College senior Taylor Soule was named one of 20 players for the 2021-2022 Cheryl Miller Award. Named after the three-time Naismith Player of the Year and Class of 1995 Hall of Famer, the annual award in its fourth year recognizes the top small forwards in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.
Soule is named to the list for the second straight season after averaging a career-high 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.Â
She finished 12th in the ACC in rebounding and 12th in the ACC in field goal percentage while leading the team in points scored (299), free throws made (76), offensive, defensive, and total rebounds (68-65-133), and minutes (599). The W. Lebanon, N.H. native is seven points away from becoming the 29th player in program history to reach 1,000 points and nine rebounds away from becoming the 11th member of the 500-rebound club.Â
The senior forward was named First-Team All-ACC and to the All-ACC Blue Ribbon Second-Team for her stellar season.
Soule was one of two players in the ACC and one of 35 players in the country to average at least 15.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steals per game, according to Her Hoop Stats.
The Eagles open the season on Nov. 9 against Harvard inside Conte Forum at 4:30 p.m. Season, single-game and group tickets for the 2021-22 season are on sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
