Hurricanes Edge Eagles in Newton

NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College women's soccer team battled the Miami Hurricanes in ACC action on Saturday night at the Newton Campus Soccer Field but ultimately fell, 1-0.

The Eagles and Hurricanes played a scoreless first half and continued to play scoreless soccer through most of the second half. Miami, though, was able to find the back of the net in the 90th minute with Jackie Koerwitz cashing in for the Hurricanes.

HOW IT HAPPENED

90' | Miami sent a long free kick into the box with 13 seconds remaining and after the ball was sent towards the corner, Katarina Molina sent it back towards the center where Jackie Koerwitz was able to put inside the far post in the final second.

GAME NOTES

Boston College is now 12-4-3 in the all-time series with Miami … the Eagles are 7-1-1 at home against the Hurricanes.
The Eagles had the 21-10 lead in shots … the teams were even in corner kicks at six each.
Jenna Bike had a game-high six shots … Linda Boama added four.
Goalkeeper Wiebke Willebrandt finished with five saves for the Eagles.
