Lauren White Named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week

White named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week after victory at New England Chmapionship
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named Lauren White the NCAA Division I Women's National Athlete of the Week on Oct. 11, 2021
On Oct. 9, White placed first at the New England Championship in Franklin Park beating the second-place runner by 10 seconds with a time of 17:14, a personal best for the course. White's performance helped BC to the overall team title for the meet.
The graduate student from Woodbury, N.Y. has had a successful start to the season with a first-place finish (17:12) at the Ken O'Brien Invitational and a ninth-place finish (17:23) at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown.
White is the third athlete from Boston College to receive this honor during the cross country season. She is preceded by Liv Westphal in 2014 and Laura Hottenrott in 2015.
White and the rest of the women's cross country team are set to compete in the NCAA Pre-National Meet this Friday, Oct. 15Â in Tallahassee, Fla.
