White Places Second for BC at Battle in Beantown

The meet featured three of the top teams in the Northeast
ATTLEBORO, Mass. — Boston College placed third in a tightly contested Battle in Beantown this afternoon at Highland Park. Â
The Eagles compiled 52 total points, led by Lauren White's second place finish. Syracuse took the team title with 33 points, followed by Army West Point in second with 37 points.
White crossed the finish line first for BC, clocking 17:27 for five-kilometers on the Coogan Cross Country Course. Three Eagles finished in the top 10 of the race. Newcomers Miriam Ruoff (18:26) and Sorcha McAllister (18:31) finished ninth and 10th, respectively.
Kylee Raftis placed 14th (18:41) and Sarah Flynn (19:02) was 18th to round out the Boston College scorers. BC's top three runners were within 1:04 and its top five crossed the line within 1:35.
Ella Whitman (20th, 19:08) and Maureen Lewin (22nd, 19:15) rounded out the top seven for BC - which opened its 2020 fall cross country season today.
