White Leads Eagles at Florida State Invitational

Senior clocks 16:58.6 for 5K; BC places fifth as a team
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —Lauren White placed third overall and the Eagles finished fifth as a team at the Florida State Invitational on Friday morning.
White clocked 16:58.6 for the flve-kilometer course. The senior was in sixth place at the two-mile mark (11:00.8), before closing strong, moving into third place over the final mile-plus of the race.
Sorcha McAllister was the second BC finisher, crossing the line in 27th place in a time of 17:45.9. Kylee Raftis and Miriam Ruoff finished 38th and 41st, respectively. Raftis clocked 17:55.8, while Ruoff was two seconds behind in 17:57.8. Sarah Flynn was BC's final scorer, crossing the finish line in 53rd place in 18:10.2.
Ella Whitman (57th, 18:15.6) and Katherine Deloreto (75th, 18:41.6) rounded out BC's top seven. Haleigh Morales was 84th (18:59.1) while Jacklyn Sullivan was 85th (19:03.7).
The Eagles placed fifth as a team, with 135 points - one point behind fourth-place Georgia. Host Florida State took the team title.
Boston College returns to action on Friday, Oct. 30 in Cary, N.C. for the 2020 ACC Cross Country Championship.
