Eagles Open Fall Season at Battle in Beantown

Ben Ruffing leads BC with an 11th place finish
ATTLEBORO, Mass. — Boston College finished third at the Battle In Beantown this afternoon at the Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park.
The Eagles were led by Ben Ruffing's 11th place finish. Ruffing averaged 5:10 per mile and crossed the finish line in a time of 25:39.
Adriano Barilla placed 23rd, clocking a time of 26:44, while a trio of Eagles finished 26-27-28 to round out the scorers. Edward Tristine was 26th, while Steven Jackson was 27th in his collegiate debut. Both runners clocked 26:59. Jack Carter was 28th (27:12).
Gordon Pollock (30th, 27:31) and John Walker (33rd, 28:15) rounded out the top seven for BC. Erik Linden was 34th (28:21) and Ben Davies finished 35th (28:37).
The Eagles totaled 80 points, Syracuse won the team title with 18 points, narrowly missing a 1-5 sweep. Army West Point posted 48 points to place second.
Boston College returns to action next week, when they race at the Florida State Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.
