Clear Bag Policy:
A clear bag policy will be in effect for all men's basketball games at Conte Forum. Approved bags for entrance to Conte Forum include a clear plastic bag that does not exceed 12"x12"x6", a one-gallon sized clear plastic bag, or a small clutch wristlet or handheld wallet.

Concessions:
All concessions (with the exception of alcohol) will be discounted by 50% pre-game, prior to tip-off. Kids fare is available in Conte Forum and all items will be $1.50, including Uncrustables peanut butter and jelly sandwich, Goldfish snack crackers, and "kid popular" bottled drinks provided by Coca-Cola.

All fans arriving early are eligible to purchase one item from the Conte Forum merchandise shop for 25% up until tip-off.

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. SYRACUSE - ALL-TIME SERIES

Today's game marks the 77th meeting between the two schools.
Boston College is 26-50 all-time vs. Syracuse (see p. 5 of notes).
Syracuse won 76-50 on Jan. 15 at the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse is Boston College's fifth-most common opponent.
From 1979-2005, both teams were members of the Big East.
BC was 17-34 against Syracuse in Big East play.
In ACC play, the Eagles are 3-10 versus the Orange.
The Eagles are 13-19 all-time vs. Syracuse at home.
BC has taken two of the last three vs. the Orange in Chestnut Hill.

BOSTON COLLEGE IN ACC PLAY

Boston College is 87-166 in 13 seasons in the ACC.
BC started 2-0 and 3-1 in ACC play for the first time since 2010-11.
The Eagles have surpassed its ACC win total from a season ago and have matched its total from 2017-18 (seven).
It marks the seventh time since 2005-06 that BC has at least seven conference victories.
The margin of victory in Boston College's seven ACC wins is 4.0 points; the margin of defeat in the 11 ACC losses is 17.1.
BC finished with a 5-13 record in ACC play in 2018-19.
BC's best ACC mark came in its inaugural season, going 11-5 in conference play in 2005-06 en route to a third place finish.
BC tied for third in 2006-07 (10-6) and was fourth in 2010-11 (9-7).

JAY HEATH CLIMBING UP THE CHARTS AMONG BC FRESHMEN

Jay Heath's 55 3-pointers so far this season rank him tied for fifth all-time among Boston College freshmen.
Tyrese Rice's 63 treys in 2005-06 tops the list, followed by Ky Bowman, who made 62 3's in 2016-17.
The rest of the top five: 3. 59 - Troy Bell (1999-2000); 4. 57 - Lonnie Jackson (2011-12); 5. 55 - Scoonie Penn (1995-96).
On February 12 at Miami, Jay Heath reached the 300-point mark on the season - in his 24th game.
Since 1990, only five other BC freshmen have reached the 300-point mark through their first 24 games.
Craig Smith did so in 14 games in 2003-04, while Troy Bell needed 16 games in 1999-2000.
Olivier Hanlan (2012-13) and Scoonie Penn (1995-96) took 22, while Ky Bowman (2016-17) needed 23.

STEFFON MITCHELL MESSED AROUND AND (NEARLY) GOT A TRIPLE-DOUBLE

Last time out vs. Notre Dame, Steffon Mitchell posted 12 points, 11 rebounds, and a career-high nine assists.
There have been 16 games this season where a player was one assist shy of a triple-double.
It marked Mitchell's sixth double-double of the season and 12th of his career. He has 31 career games with 10+ rebounds.

JAY DOT BUCKETS

Among ACC freshmen, Jay Heath ranks fourth in scoring (12.9), 3FG made (55), third in 3FG% (.374), seventh in assists (56), and second in steals (38).
Heath is one of four ACC frosh in the top 25 of scoring in the league. He also ranks among league leaders in steals and 3FG.
He has made three or more 3-pointers in a game on 10 occasions - second-most 3FG games among all ACC newcomers.
Earlier this season, Heath knocked down a season-high 5-of-7 from deep versus Eastern Washington.
The last BC freshman to make five 3-pointers in a game: Ky Bowman (5) vs. Notre Dame on Feb. 14, 2017.
Heath has scored in double figures in 23 of the 28 games in which he has appeared.
He scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds, and logged four assists in his collegiate debut vs. Wake Forest.
The last BC freshman to tally that stat line in his first collegiate game - Jerome Robinson vs. St. Francis N.Y. on Nov. 14, 2015.
Robinson - a 2018 lottery pick of the L.A. Clippers - had 19 points, six boards, and five dimes in his college debut.

ALLOW ME TO RE-INTRODUCE MYSELF

Graduate transfer Derryck Thornton has returned to the ACC to play his final season of eligibility.
He is tied for Boston College's scoring lead (12.9 ppg) and ranks 14th in the ACC in assists, averaging 3.5 assists per contest.
His top four career scoring performances have come this season, including a career-best 23 points vs. Wake Forest.
The 6-3 guard also scored 22 points in a win over N.C. State and 22 points in a road win at USF.
Overall, four of his top five and seven of his top 10 single-game scoring totals have come in a BC uniform.
Thornton began his career at Duke in 2015-16, averaging 7.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 36 games (20 starts).
The L.A. native played two seasons USC, averaging 6.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and a 1.73:1 ATR in 57 games.
His assist/turnover (2.22:1) ranked third and his assists average ranked sixth (4.3) in the Pac-12 in 2018-19.

STEFFON MITCHELL DOES IT ALL
This season...

Steffon Mitchell leads BC in rebounding (8.4), steals (2.3), and blocks (0.9) per game, while ranking second in assists (3.0).
He is the only player nationally to log 8.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.3 steals, and 0.9 blocked shots per game.
Since 1996, only three other players have posted those per game averages throughout an entire season.
Steffon Mitchell ranks 12th in Division I in steals per game (2.3). At 6-8, he is the tallest player in the top 30 nationally.
Last time out vs. Notre Dame, Mitchell was one assist shy of a triple-double (12 points/11 rebounds/nine assists).
He has posted six double-doubles this season, including a career-high tying 21 points and 15 boards at Virginia Tech.
Mitchell has led the team in rebounding in 22 games, steals 17 times, blocks on 15 occasions, and assists 11 times.
He set a new career-highs in assists (9 vs. Notre Dame, Feb. 26) and steals (6 vs. CCSU, Dec. 15).
Mitchell tied his career high in scoring (21 points) and rebounds (15 boards) at Virginia Tech on Feb. 8.
In the ACC, he leads the league in steals and ranks fifth in rebounding (second in offensive rebounding - 3.18 OR/g).
He ranks sixth in the ACC in assist/TO ratio rankings, registering a 1.95:1 mark this season.
He ranks 18th nationally in steals/TO rankings, posting a 1.51:1 ratio (65:43).

For his career...

Mitchell has led BC in at least one statistical category (scoring, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) in 81 of his 89 career games.
The 6-8 forward is the ACC's active rebounding leader, averaging 8.2 rebounds per game for his 89-game career.
He ranks 32nd among all active Division I players in rebounding average (8.2) and is 49th in total rebounds.
Last year, he ranked fifth overall in the league (7.9 rpg). As a freshman, he ranked seventh in the conference (8.3 rpg).
The Shakopee, Minn. native became the first true freshman in Boston College history to average better than 8.0 rpg.
He has registered 10 or more rebounds in a game on 31 occasions. BC is 18-13 in those games.
A skilled passer from the post, he is averaging 2.4 assists per game as well as a 2.17:1 assist/turnover ratio in his career.

KAMARI WILLIAMS IS HEATING UP

Over the last six games, Kamari Williams is averaging 15.2 minutes of play and 14.6 minutes over the last seven.
Over the last six games, Williams is connecting on 52.2% (12-23) from the floor.
Through his first 16 games played, WIlliams native was averaging just under seven minutes per game as a reserve.
On Feb. 12 at Miami, Williams scored a season-best 14 points (6-10 FG; 2-3 3FG) in 22 minutes of play.
In the overtime win at Virginia Tech on Feb. 8, the freshman forward tallied eight points (3-4 FG; 2-3 3FG) in 21 minutes.

NOT THROWING AWAY HIS SHOT

Despite being hampered by an ankle injury the last six games, Jared Hamilton is having his best offensive season.
He ranks fifth on the team in scoring (8.0 points per game): 6.8 as a starter (11 games) and 9.0 as a sub (13 games).
On Feb. 1 at North Carolina, Hamilton tied his season-high with 18 points, including the late game go-ahead free throws.
It was his second game winning shot of the year - he hit the go-ahead 3-pointer in the 60-53 win over #18/18 Virginia on Jan. 7.
He has scored in double-digits in eight of 23 games. BC is 7-1 when Hamilton scores 10 or more points.
He is shooting 58.8% (40-68) and 13-of-22 from 3-point land (59.1%) in the eight games where he has scored in double digits.
Twice he has scored 18 points - at North Carolina and in a home win over Central Connecticut.
Hamilton's 20 3FG this year are a career-high. He entered the season with nine career 3FG in 58 games from 2015-18.
