
Guy, Dickens Lead Eagles Over Clemson, 70-68

Guy and Dickens combine for 45 points as Eagles improve to 6-6 in the ACC.
CLEMSON, S.C. – Senior Emma Guy scored a game-high 24 points and Makayla Dickens finished with 21 including two free throws in the final seconds to seal a 70-68 victory over Clemson on Sunday afternoon in an ACC conference game at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Boston College improved to 13-10 and 6-6 in the ACC, while Clemson dropped to 7-17 and 3-10 in the conference. BC has is now 2-1 in the last three games.
Guy, who was 11-for-11 from the field in the first half, finished with a team-high 24 points and eight boards. She was 12-for-14 in the game. Dickens was 5-for-9 from the three-point line and had seven rebounds for 21 points. She scored 13 of her points in the second half.
Sophomore Marnelle Garraud added eight points, five assists and two rebounds. Sophomore Taylor Soule pitched in with seven points, six rebounds and four steals.
Clemson was led by Kendall Spray with 17 points, while Kobi Thornton added 15 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College jumped out to a 9-3 lead behind six points from Emma Guy and a three-pointer from Makyala Dickens. The Eagles held a 21-14 lead after the first quarter as they shot 10-for-15 from the floor (66.7%) Emma Guy went 5-for-5 from the floor for 10 points in the quarter.
-The Eagles lead ballooned to 32-16 on an 11-2 run behind four points from Guy and a three-pointer from Marnelle Garraud. The Tigers were forced into a timeout. A three-pointer from Makayla Dickens opened up a 9-2 run to end the first half. In the run, Guy had six straight points as BC led, 41-26.
- A Tigers 14-8 run cut the Eagles lead to 49-40 at the start of the third quarter. In the run, Kendall Spray hit two long three-pointers. BC called a timeout with 6:17 as the offense went cold (2-for-9). Clemson outscored BC 28-18 to get back into the game as BC led 59-54 after three quarters.
- Both teams struggled to get the offense going in the quarter. A jumper by Tigers forward Hannah Hank tied the game at 66-66 with 6:38 to play. Taylor Soule hit a jumper at the top of the key to give BC a two point lead. With seconds left on the play clock, Clemson found Amari Robinson under the basket and the game was tied, 68-68. BC called a timeout with 35 seconds to play. Dickens was fouled with five seconds and hit the first of her two free throws. Taylor Soule grabbed the rebound on the missed free throw and BC had possession. Dickens was fouled again and with one second to play she made the first and hit the ball off the rim to let the time run out and seal the win for the Eagles.
