Eagles Fall to No. 8 Terriers in Beanpot Semifinal

Boston College will face Harvard in next week's consolation game.
BOSTON – The No. 8 Boston University Terriers topped the Boston College women's hockey team, 4-0, on Tuesday night in the second semifinal of the 42nd Women's Beanpot Tournament at Walter Brown Arena.
The Eagles will now face Harvard on Tuesday, Feb. 11 in the Beanpot consolation game.
BU scored just over six minutes into the opening frame, and Corinne Schroeder turned away all 12 of BC's shots in the period to send the host school into the first break up one. After a scoreless second period, the Terriers scored twice in the opening five minutes of the third period and held off the BC attack the rest of the way before potting an empty-net goal.
Maddy McArthur finished with 20 saves for BC while Schroeder made 33 stops for BU. The Eagles held the 33-24 lead in shots on goal while keeping the Terriers to 0-for-3 on the power play. BC went 0-for-2 on the advantage.

- 1st, 6:19 | 0-1, BU GOAL: Coming up the left circle, Sammy Davis fed Abby Cook at the middle of the blue line and the defender sent her slap shot through traffic and inside the left post.
- 3rd, 0:53 | 0-2, BU GOAL: Nara Elia and Jesse Compher entered the offensive zone with a 2-on-1, and Elia was able to sneak a pass to the right post for Compher to finish.
- 3rd, 3:18 | 0-3, BU GOAL: BU forced a turnover in the neutral zone and Compher carried the puck in on McArthur and from the right circle wristed a shot into the upper left corner.
- 3rd, 18:07 | 0-4, BU GOAL: With McArthur on the bench in favor of an extra attacker, Deziray De Sousa was able to put the puck in the empty net.
- BC is now 32-17-2 all-time in the Beanpot since becoming a varsity program (1995-present) … the Eagles are 5-2-1 against the Terriers with both schools at varsity status and 15-2-1 overall … both of BU's wins against BC in the Beanpot have come at Walter Brown Arena in the first round.
- BC's all-time record against BU now sits at 31-22-7 with a mark of 14-10-2 at Walter Brown Arena … this marked the 60th all-time meeting between the two Comm Ave schools.
- Head coach Katie Crowley now has a career mark of 26-21-6 against Boston University.
- Delaney Belinskas led the Terriers with a game-high six shots on goal ... Cayla Barnes added five shots on goal for BC.
- Barnes finished with five blocked shots for the Eagles ... she now has 80 on the year.
