No. 49 Eagles Fall at Home to No. 10 Duke

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA, Mass. – No. 49 Boston College fell 4-0 to 10th-ranked Duke on Friday afternoon at the Manchester Athletic Club in ACC play.
The Eagles dropped to 8-3 (0-3 ACC) while the Blue Devils improved to 8-2 (1-0 ACC) following their conference opener.
Dasha Possokhova and Hailey Wilcox posted a 6-3 victory in third doubles, but Duke won at the No. 1 and 2 slots to take the opening point.
The Blue Devils featured three players in the ITA top-80 at the front of their singles lineup and swept those three matches to secure the overall win.Â
Elene Tsokilauri was leading Hannah Zhao 6-4, 3-2 in her fifth singles matchup but the match went unfinished.Â
BC returns to action in Manchester-by-the-Sea on Sunday (Feb. 23) against 11th-ranked Georgia Tech at 11 a.m.
