The ninth-ranked Boston College women’s hockey team is set to play a home-and-home series against second-ranked Northeastern this weekend.

Sunday's game will air live on NESN. All games this season will be made available across the U.S. and internationally on SportsLive, while all games televised on NESN and NESN+ and other select matchups will also be made available on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports app outside of New England.Â

• Boston College and Northeastern are set to play a home-and-home series this weekend, facing off on Friday afternoon at Kelley Rink and then again on Sunday afternoon at Matthews Arena.
• Northeastern and BC met three times last year, with the Huskies sweeping the series.
• Friday's contest will be streamed on SportsLive while Sunday's matinee will air on NESN ... it will mark the fifth time this season that BC's game will air on NESN/NESN+.

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE
• The Eagles have opened up the 2020-21 campaign with a mark of 4-2-0 ... BC has earned weekend sweeps over New Hampshire and UConn while falling twice to Providence.
• Last weekend, the Eagles took both ends of the home-and-home with UConn, winning 5-3 in Storrs and 3-1 at Kelley Rink.
• Kelly Browne leads the team and sits second in the nation in scoring with 10 points on four goals and six assists ... six players have registered at least four points while 15 players total have earned at least one.
• Maddy McArthur has gone 3-0-0 in goal with a ,936 save percentage and 2.00 goals against average while Kelly Pickreign and Abigail Levy have both picked up starts for the Eagles.
• BC returned four of the top five and eight of the top 10 scorers from the 2019-20 team ... the team went 17-16-3 overall and 14-11-2 in Hockey East to finish fourth in the standings and host a Hockey East playoff series for the eighth consecutive year.

ABOUT NORTHEASTERN
• This marks the first weekend of play this season for Northeastern ... the Huskies went 32-4-2 overall and 24-3-0 in Hockey East play during the 2019-20 season en route to Hockey East regular season and tournament titles and a berth in the NCAA tournament.
• Leading scorer Alina Mueller returns for her junior season after putting up 66 points on 27 goals and 39 assists, tied for second in the nation ... the 2020 Patty Kazmaier Top-3 Finalist and Hockey East Player of the Year potted 10 game-winning goals last year ... fellow Hockey East First Team All-Stars forward Chloe Aurard (21-28-49) and defender Skylar Fontaine (17-25-42) are also back for Northeastern.
• In goal, Patty Kazmaier Top-10 finalist Aerin Frankel returns for her senior season after posting a .958 save percentage, 1.07 goals against average, 10 shutouts and 27-4-2 record as a junior.
• Dave Flint is in his 12th season as head coach of the Huskies.
SERIES HISTORY
• Boston College is 45-42-7 all-time against Northeastern since elevating to Division I status for the 1995-96 season ... Friday marks the 94th meeting in the series.
• Overall, the Eagles are 19-17-4 at home against the Huskies, 19-20-2 on the road and 7-5-1 in neutral site meetings.
• Northeastern took the regular season series in 2019-20, winning 3-0 and 6-0 at Kelley Rink in addition to a 3-0 win at Matthews Arena.
• The teams met five times during the 2018-19 season, with Northeastern taking the series at 3-2-0 ... each team won their respective home games, with the Huskies earning 5-4 overtime and 4-1 wins while the Eagles had a 7-5 victory ... BC won the neutral site Beanpot semifinal meeting, 4-1, and then the Huskies won the Hockey East Tournament title game in overtime, 3-2.

• Cayla Barnes and Willow Corson each have three career assists against the Huskies ... Barnes has 33 career shots on goal against Northeastern, a team-high.
• Maddy McArthur picked up her first career point with an assist on Jan. 12, 2019 in a 7-5 BC win.

A BALANCED BC ATTACK
• Fifteen different players have recorded at least one point for the Eagles so far this season while nine players have at least three points each.
• Through the first six games, 10 different players have scored a goal ... it marks the first time since the 2016-17 season that BC has had 10 different goal scorers through the first six games.
• Six players have recorded multi-point games for BC while three players have had multi-goal games.
HOT STARTS FOR BROWNE AND NORCROSS
• Kelly Browne and Savannah Norcross have each opened up the season with six-game point streaks, with both marking career longs for the juniors.
• Browne has three multi-point games over that span including the third multi-goal game of her career with two scores at UConn on Dec. 4 - a performance that included a short-handed goal and a game-winning goal ... the captain has a team-leading 10 points on four goals and six assists.
• Browne was named the Hockey East Player of the Week for her three goal, one assist weekend against UConn.
• Norcross started the year with a career-high three assist game at New Hampshire on Nov. 20 and then had a three-game goal scoring streak ... she has assisted on two game-winning goals and scored the winner herself against UConn on Dec. 5.
FRESHMEN FIRSTS
• Through the first six games of the season, five of BC's rookies have earned at least one point.
• Gaby Roy picked up her first four career goals against UNH on Nov. 20 and then earned her first career assist the next day.
• Olivia O'Brien and Caroline Goffredo picked up their first career assists in that Nov. 20 game against the Wildcats while Natalie Tulchinsky earned her first career helper on Nov. 21, also against UNH.
• Natalie Tulchinsky scored the first and second goals of her career at UConn on Dec. 4, 2020 ... Maddie Crowley-Cahill earned her first collegiate point with an assist in that game.
• Seven of BC's rookies made their collegiate debuts in the season-opener at UNH on Nov. 21.
