Eagles Fall to Yale on the Road 5-2

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Boston College dropped a 5-2 final to Yale on Saturday afternoon at the Cullman Heyman Tennis Center, falling to 1-1 on the spring.
The Eagles lost the doubles point despite a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles from Chris Grasel and Max Motlagh.
In singles, Max Mendelsohn brought a 2-0 deficit to one as he coasted past Ryan Cheng in straight sets. The Bulldogs then took a 3-1 lead, but Sean Mullins once again cut the deficit in half with a 6-4, 7-6(3) win in the No. 6 slot.
Yale clinched the match at second singles with Michael Sun outlasting Javi Amantegui in a third set 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
BC returns to action next Friday (Jan. 31) with its ACC opener on the road at Virginia beginning at 5 p.m.
