No. 5 Eagles Travel to No. 13 UMass Lowell, Host Rival BU

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No. 5 Boston College travels to Tsongas Center on Friday (Jan. 17) to meet 13th-ranked UMass Lowell before returning to the Heights on Saturday (Jan. 18) for the Battle of Comm Ave against rival Boston University. BC is 11-1-0 in its last 12 games after splitting a home-and-home with No. 10 UMass last weekend. Saturday's game against BU will air live on NESNplus, and both games can be heard on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.com.Â

• New BC head football coach Jeff Hafley will be introduced to the crowd at Kelley Rink during the first intermission on Saturday night
• Hafley will be handing out pizza to early arriving students and will join the NESNplus broadcast live during the second intermission

• The Eagles suffered their first defeat in more than two months since a 1-0 loss at UNH on Nov. 1
• Alex Newhook scored the lone BC goal late in the first period for his seventh of the year, while classmate Spencer Knight stopped 21 of the 23 shots he faced in his first start since returning from the World Junior Championships
