Eagles Win UMass Invitational; Sweep 1-5 Spots

AMHERST, Mass. – In an incredible 1-5 sweep, the Boston College women's cross country team won the UMass Invitational with 15 points on Saturday in Amherst, Massachusetts.
Senior Emeline Delanis kicked off her senior year, and first on the cross country team, in maroon and gold on a high note, winning the five-kilometer race in 17:12. She would beat out teammates Isabelle Kennedy and Lauren White, who crossed the finish line in 17:20 and 17:21, respectively.
Just trailing that pair was Anna Oeser, who would place fourth in 17:27. Rounding out the top five for the Eagles was Paige Duca, who ran a 17:42 to complete the scoring team.
Finishing the top seven for BC was Sarah Flynn and Kylee Raftis. Flynn would place seventh with a time of 17:51, while Raftis finished in ninth in 18:00.
BC ended with seven of the top 10 spot in the race and outscored second-place Connecticut, who tallied 54 points.
